Documents, minimum age, insurance and fuel: everything you need to know before picking up your car.
In Sardinia a car is not an accessory: it is how you reach the beaches, the inland villages and the viewpoints public transport does not serve. Travellers who land without a car end up seeing a fraction of the island.
With us you need two things: a valid driving licence and an ID document for the main driver. No credit card, no blocked deposit, no age limit and no surcharge for a recently issued licence. This is where the difference with the big operators shows: at their desks they ask for a credit card in the driver’s name and hold €1,500–2,500 on it — travellers carrying only a prepaid or debit card are left stranded.
Insurance is where the real price difference hides. Many cheap-looking offers cover only the legal minimum and sell full cover at the desk for €15–25 per day: over a week that doubles your bill. With us full insurance is already included in the price you see, along with child seats and the second driver.
Fuel follows a simple rule: you collect the car full and return it full. Be wary of formulas where you pay for the tank upfront and return the car empty — you almost always pay for fuel you never used.
One last tip: give us your flight number when you book. If your plane is delayed we will wait for you at no extra cost — but only if we know which flight you are on.
